North Korea’s
Party-run publication Rodong Sinmun released an article on January 29th entitled, “Let Party Members Stand at the Forefront of Today’s Battle,” emphasizing the role of the Party
and the organizations within.
“It is a great honor and source of energy
to have Party members that have been tempered like steel in the storm of the songun
revolution and matured to be fighters of iron will,”
the piece read. “The future of the great Mt. Baekdu
nation is bright because our Party is strong and will lead to victory with our
great member troops.”
Noting today as the starting point for all
Party members to implement protection of the Suryeong at all costs, the
publication called for “no exceptions for even the most
minute of things that go against the Party’s monolithic
belief system is the strong stance of Chosun Workers’
Party members and what defines their ideological traits.”
Underscoring the importance and
effectiveness of systematic ideological education, the piece compared its spread to “all-out attack where one
Party member educates ten people, and ten members breed 1,000 patriots.” To achieve this victorious outcome, Party members were urged to act
as “train engines and scouts that charge
through snowy tracks .”
The resounding commands laid out in the
piece are purportedly aimed at improving people’s
livelihoods, which, according to the publication, must move forward “even if it
means crushing your own bones and shedding blood for it so that it becomes the
foundation for policies that will blossom results in reality.”
