Young NK Hosts One Minute Film Competition

The nonprofit organization, Students
Alliance for Human Rights in North Korea [Young NK], is currently hosting a user
content created [UCC] film contest. Young adults and college students are
encouraged to enter the contest to help raise awareness on North Korea’s human
rights situation.

Young NK’s panel of judges are looking for
videos covering a wide array of topics related to human rights in North
Korea: North Korea’s current human rights situation, improving the human rights
situation, the need to establish human rights laws, and/or the encouragement to
make liberal democracy the foundation for North Korea after unification.

Examples of welcomed content include
expression through dance, pictures, interviews, songs, webtoons, infographics,
videos, stop-motion, etc. Young NK encourages participants to think outside of
the box to come up with a fresh piece to shed new light on these important
issues.

Each team MUST include a mention of Young
NK in their entry. Video submissions are acceptable in both Korean and English.

Creativity, appropriate content, popular
appeal [number of YouTube hits and positive comments], technical ability, and
originality are among the criteria by which submissions will be judged and
winners selected.

The video is to be no longer than 60 seconds,
be under 150 MB, and must be in one of four accepted formats: .avi, .mpeg,
.wmv, or .swt at a 16:9 ratio.

The deadline for submission is November
