Uhm Yun Chul wins the second gold for North Korea in the men’s 56kg weightlifting at the Olympic record of 168kg.

Uhm Yun Chul 5 feet tall and 123 pounds won by lifting an Olympic record 370 pounds in the clean and jerk yesterday at the London games.The weight more than three times his body weight had intimated other competitors.

“I wanted to lift a big weight and make the other athletes nervous,” Uhm said.

Uhm gave all credit to Kim Jong Il who died last December. When Uhm was asked “How can any man possibly lift 168kg? ” Uhm said “I belive the great Kim Jong Il looked over me.”

Previously, Ahn Keum Ae secured North Korea’s first Olympic gold medal at the London Olympics in women’s 52kg judo on the same day putting North Korea 6th in world rank.
